In 2010, the Vermont State Police began collecting race data on all their traffic stops. Encompassing 6 years of traffic stop data, the visualization tools on this website can help us understand if and how race play into their decisions when dealing with motorists. There were 283,286 traffic stops which our group analyzed through different methods to present the data in meaningful forms.
The different visualization tools can be accessed through the links across this top of this page.
The original data for these analyses can be found at data.vermont.gov.
